2025 Nickel Plate Loppet

This cross-country ski event is open to all ages and skill levels, whether you’re racing for the podium or just out for the fun and challenge. Race classic or skate on our expertly groomed trails, stunning winter scenery, and a great community atmosphere. Sign up today and be part of the adventure!

Schedule of Events:

  • 8:30 – 9:45 Bib and ticket pickup for all participants at the day lodge
  • 10:00 Mass start for the 15 and 30 km skate events
  • 10:02 Mass start for the 15 and 30 km classic events
  • 10:10 Mass start for U6 event
  • 10:15 Mass start for U14 event
  • 10:20 Mass start for U 18 event
  • ~1:00 Draw prizes and results of top finishers (people who may still be on course and not at the draw will still be eligible for draw prizes)

Nickel Plate Nordic Center is located 45  minutes from Penticton, BC, in the beautiful South Okangan, on the Nickel Plate Hedley Road, 6 km past Apex Ski Resort.  Find Us Here

Facilities:

Heated day lodge, indoor washroom facilities, and potable water.

Food

Refreshments will be available at the finish area for all participants. Brodo Kitchen of Penticton will be offering two food options for after the loppet, you will need to select your option and purchase a meal ticket while registering. Nickel Plate also has a limited supply of snack options available for purchase at the ticket / rental office.

Waxing Stations

There are 4 waxing stations located at the entrance of the day lodge. All loppet participants are expected to follow the CCBC waxing protocol.

Aid Stations

Aid stations will be available at the approximate halfway point on the 15km course (intersection of Eagle’s Nest and the Winter’s Creek FSR trails) and at the end of the first 15km lap. Refreshments will also be available in the day lodge / finish area for all events.

Cold Weather Policy

If the forecasted temperature at start time is below -18C or other unfavourable weather conditions exist, the event start times will be delayed and / or the event will be cancelled at the discretion of the Chief of Competition.

Local Accomodations

Emergencies on Course

Participants seeing another skier in trouble are asked to notify the next course marshal they see of the situation. Anyone aiding a fellow skier in distress will receive free entry into next years loppet.

Results

Results will be posted on our site here as soon as possible and on Zone 4
