SafeSport Training
Safe Sport training is a free 90-minute eLearning module in the Locker. Safe, inclusive sport environments help make sport rewarding and enriching for all. Safe Sport training gives you the knowledge and skills to create those environments by recognizing, addressing and preventing maltreatment in sport. To find out more and to take the training, go to https://safesport.coach.ca/participants-training
Understanding the Rule of Two Training
A safe sport environment ensures all coaches, staff, and administrators apply the Rule of Two. When following the Rule of Two, all interactions and communications with participants are in open, observable, and justifiable settings, and two responsible adults — whether a coach, parent, staff or screened volunteer — are present. Understanding the Rule of Two is a free 20-minute eLearning module in the Locker. This training will improve your judgment to assess and implement preventive measure and increase your confidence and practices when faced with situations in which the Rule of Two may apply. Making Ethical Decisions (MED) Training
The MED module equips coaches to handle challenging ethical situations with confidence and surety. It helps coaches identify the legal, ethical, and moral implications of difficult situations that present themselves in team and individual sports. Until August 31, 2024, the MED module is included in the Introduction to Community Coaching online course. After September 1, 2024, the MED module will be hosted as a separate 4-hour online or in person course. Find out more from viaSport HERE. CCBC is strongly encouraging our member clubs to have new coaches complete their ICC module prior to September 1, 2024. Please reach out to Nancy Beaumont with any questions.
