DESCRIPTION:The Nickel Plate Nordic Centre is hosting a Ski Playground Family Day event on Sunday\, 18 Feb 2024\, from 10:00 to 2:00. Thanks to the Rainbow Outdoor Collective (ROC) the lessons\, day pass and rentals are provided at no cost to you. \n\nActivities include:\nSki Jumping\nCross country ski lessons;\nBiathlon (with laser equipped rifles);\nA cross country ski playground to test your new skills\n\nFor those unfamiliar with Biathlon\, it combines two contrasting disciplines: cross country skiing and the need for a high level of fitness\, with shooting and the need for calm breathing and low heart rate. Normally\, rifles are .22 calibre but technology has made it possible to practice with laser adapted rifles.\n\nThere are several goals of this event including:\nto try out Nordic style skiing;\ntry the amazing sport of Biathlon;\nto experience the lodge (and the refuge it offers when the kids don’t want to ski after all the effort it took to get them up there);\nto see the world class network of Nordic trails (did you know that there is a spectacular network of snowshoe trails AND a K9 loop for dogs?)\n\nThe one requirement is to receive a discount code by following the steps here NPNC Rainbow Outdoor Collective\n\nIt’s a great opportunity to enjoy the winter outside!
