Cross Country Ski Development Program

Cottontails
Too little for lessons but want to join in the fun? New this year, we will have a Cottontail Trail activity loop for parents to use with their 3 and 4 year olds. Hot chocolate provided in the cabin. No charge for this volunteer parent-led program
Bunny Rabbit - Active Start
Saturday mornings from 10 am to 11 am
Cross country ski fun for children aged 4 and 5. The emphasis is on having fun while developing fundamental skiing skills through activity and play.
Fees:  By Nov. 1 -- $35.00 after Nov. 1 -- $40.00
Jackrabbit - FUNdamentals
Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12pm
Jackrabbits is a 4 level program directed at skiers aged 6 to 9 years. The program teaches basic cross-country classic and skate skiing skills. The emphasis is on having fun, helping develop confidence, improving the skiers' balance and agility, and providing children with an opportunity to ski and socialize with their ski friends.
Fees:  By Nov. 1 -- $47.00 after Nov. 1 -- $52.00
Track Attack-Learning to Train
Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12pm Track Attack is aimed at skiers 9 to 12 years old.  Games, activities and drills will be utilized to develop fitness at this stage. There will be a focus on balance, agility and rhythm.  The objective is for participants to become technically competent skiers and to utilize those skills in a wide range of ski activities from "adventure-based" cross country ski activities to tournaments, club and optional regional races.Group Sessions - Saturday mornings 10 am - 12 noon. This is an 8 session program with the option of participating in evening sessions at Telemark for those athletes wishing to compete in individual and team-friendly races
Fees:  By Nov. 1 -- $47.00 after Nov. 1 -- $52.00

Teens on Skis Program
This program is for teens age 12 & up who either have graduated from the track attack program or want to be a better skier. 
You will improve your skating and classic ski technique. Fun is the main focus, while exploring and skiing the trails. The chance to race on skis with your age group in local events will be available if you choose.
Group Sessions - Saturday mornings 10 am - 12 noon.  This program will run at the same time as the Jack Rabbit sessions.  Group Sessions - Saturday mornings 10 am - 12 noon. Dec. 6 & 13, Jan. 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 & Feb. 7.

Fees will be $60 for the eight sessions or a drop-in fee of  $10.00.

School Program

In partnership with the Okanagan Skaha School Board, we have implemented and introductory ski program for Grade 5 students. Students are divided into groups of 8 to 10 and have a fully qualified instructor, plus one or two chaperones per group. Lessons are one and one and a half hours in the morning, and two hours in the afternoon. Instruction time is mixed with fun time to ensure high levels of interest and energy.
